How We Choose and Write About Crypto Casinos

This page explains what goes into the guides and shortlist on this site, and just as importantly what doesn't. It is desk research, and it has limits.

Which casinos we cover

We cover eight operators, and they are the ones we have affiliate agreements with: BC.Game, Bitstarz, Vave, OnlySpins, GambleZen, SpinEmpire, Winshark and SlotsVader. That is a commercial fact, not a quality filter, and it is why the shortlist shouldn't be read as the best of the whole market. We would rather say so than pretend to a survey we haven't done.

What we look at

• Licensing. Who says it holds the licence, and whether the regulator's own register backs that up. A badge in a footer is only a claim.
• Coins and networks. What the operator advertises it accepts. Coin lists change, so we send you to the cashier rather than print a list.
• Bonus terms. The multiplier, what it applies to, game weighting, maximum bet and cashout caps, and expiry. We turn the multiplier into real turnover so the headline doesn't do the persuading.
• Withdrawal and verification terms. Minimums, limits and when an operator says it will ask for ID.
• Public player reports. What independent players say about payouts and support, read sceptically, because unhappy players post more than happy ones.

Why we don't publish scores or payout times

A score of 8.1 out of 10 or a "9 minute withdrawal" implies a test, and we haven't run one. We haven't opened accounts, made deposits or timed withdrawals at any of these casinos. We used to show figures like these on earlier versions of the site and have removed them because we couldn't back them up. If we ever do hands-on testing, we will publish what was tested, when, and how, and we won't borrow the word before then.

How the shortlist is ordered

The order is editorial judgement based on how much public information there is to check a brand against, and it isn't a measured ranking. It also reflects a commercial reality: we earn commission from these operators. Please weigh it as one input, not a verdict.

How we handle change

Operators update terms, coin lists and country restrictions often and don't always announce it. We change a page's date only when we change its content, and we leave specific numbers out when we can't keep them accurate. When in doubt, the casino's own terms page is right and ours is out of date.
